Relax, Unwind and Recharge Last September, my husband Robert was involved in a terrible accident on Georgian Bay that left him with multiple injuries. Thankfully, he survived and is recovering well. Three hours after the accident, I was sitting with him - having driven up to Midland from Toronto -and the emergency doctor was telling us that Robert likely had Stage 1 lung cancer (which he did, and again thankfully, has had successfully removed). It’s been a long road to recovery for him, and a journey toward healing for us both.
At times, life can seem as if it is spinning out of control. An overload of stress can affect us in a myriad of different ways – emotional ups and downs, fuzzy thinking, exhaustion. During these times, a yoga and meditation practice can help us stay grounded and clear-headed. If you've ever felt as if your life is spinning out of control, taking time for yourself can be the best gift you can offer yourself. Taking time to put the brakes on, pause, and reflect - and just be - can help you move forward clearly, calmly and with greater purpose. We've designed The Healing Heart Restorative Retreat at Tamarack Lodge so you don't have to worry about a thing. Soothe your aches and pains with gentle yoga, sink into blissful relaxation, calm your mind with meditation, savour great food, fantastic company and wonderful conversation. Immerse yourself in that fabulous book that's been calling to you for so long, snug in your cabin. Meander, or take brisk walks around the lake. (You can hike around the lake in less than an hour). Experience the joy of singing around a campfire, or in the Pixie Hut. Find balm for your soul in a quiet canoe or kayak trip around the lake. "Wonderful food! Wonderful people. The high points?
